Firmware Update to Netgear CM1100 Modem

Hi it appears my personally owned router needs a firmware update.  According to Netgear documentation my ISP needs to push this... phone/chat support, not helpful unfortunately.

I've seen this firmware update issue on these forums, so it's clear Comcast does it, just dont know who to contact.

Thanks

Mike

All modem and combination modem/router gateway devices receive a firmware update when they boot up if they are not already using the most current version. Sometimes they have to be power cycled a time or two before the update is applied.

Why do you believe your CM1100 needs a firmware update? Manual update pushes are rare, and last I heard the first line phone and chat reps are not able to do one.

Thanks for the reply. I started the troubleshooting / research based on having to reboot several times a day due to the service going down, so it's getting plenty of reboots to pull the latest if that is what is supposed to happen.

I am going off of the netgear site regarding the firmware being out of date - figured getting that updated would be the best first step.  (note: my coax is good, not multi split from the source line etc.)

https://kb.netgear.com/000036375/What-s-the-latest-firmware-version-of-my-NETGEAR-cable-modem-or-modem-router

which states V6.01.07 is  needed for comcast vs what the modem says.
