Finally Switching to AT&T Fiber!

Holy cow! I've spent years convincing my elderly grandmother that AT&T isn't completely evil. That was the only thing holding us back. She has finally agreed to switch to AT&T fiber.
I'm so tired of coaxial cables. It's such a horrible medium. Even if Comcast/Xfinity installs everything perfectly, which they don't, Georgia Power and God knows who else will reterminate and shorten coax cables without notifying the homeowner. Guess what? Xfinity is doubling down on coax!!! 🤣
I've spent the past few years trying to figure out how to move our darn cable modem because Xfinity didn't run a new coaxial cable to the structured media enclosure (where it should be). The phone line was hooked up to a 25' cord that provided a land line for the entire home. Wow! After spending hours moving all of our networking equipment, I find out that the only coaxial cable going to the media enclosure is some crusty 3" piece of junk. It was cut by Georgia Power to add a surge protector that my grandmother signed up for years ago. Why do you need a surge protector for data? Because coax is horrible and stinky.
I live in the metro Atlanta area, not in the middle of North Dakota. We have 5G, Starlink, and fiber. Goodbye Xfinity! My Grandstream HT801 is in the mail.
