Feit Electric Smart Bulbs with xFi Pods - 2.4 GHz needed and I can't split the connection type

I have a dual band modem and, in the past, have used a wifi extender for hard to reach areas in my house. I had several smart devices (IoT devices) connected, but when I connected them the first time, I had to disable my 5 GHz wifi temporarily. They connected fine after I did that.

Now, I have ditched the wifi extender for xFi pods. Connectivity on devices took a while to become better, but now has settled in and is working well. However, I have 4 Feit Electric Smart Light Bulbs that require 2.4 GHz wifi. I can no longer disable 5 GHz wifi (due to the xFi Pods), and cannot connect two of the bulbs. Two of them have connected, but two of them are offline.

I have not seen any other postings or information on xFi pod management with Feit Electric Smart Light Bulbs. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Is there any answer to this issue? I'm having the same problem. All of these wifi bulbs are now useless with the pods... that's extremely frustrating.

Yes! I have the same issue! It seems like xfinity doesn't really care to answer this question, much less care to fix it! It's okay because we will be switching to Lightspeed if they don't start doing their job! We've been loyal customers for over 4 years! We are tired of this! We have a smarthome and unfortunately (until now) they were the only person with 1gb internet speed! Smart lights are the new tech, and they need to step up their game! We have six xfi pods as well! This is ridiculous!

I actually was able to solve this. I simply logged into the router via web interface, went into the settings and was able to see both the 2.4 and 5 GHz networks. I clicked disable on the 5 and set my Wi-Fi devices up, then turned the 5 back on. Pretty simple actually.

FWIW, the bands can't be separated if someone is using the pods as the original poster is.

I’m using the pods. My solution worked.

AFAIK, the pods can't function unless the bands are combined. From their FAQ here;

https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/xfi-pods-faqs

One WiFi network name and password (i.e., you cannot have a separate WiFi network name and password for your 2.4 and 5 GHz radio bands). Your network still has both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz radio bands. This allows your Gateway to sort out the best connection at any given time for your devices.

I temporarily turned of the 5Ghz band, installed my devices, then turned it back on. Took about 4 minutes. My pods are still working fine. They may have been temporarily down when the 5Ghz band was down, I don’t know. I didn’t look. But no one in the family complained that the Wi-Fi was gone.

I guess that the information that they provided is incorrect...

Yeah I read that as well and figured I’d just try it. It worked. I don’t know what else to say. What I did worked and my pods are still working just fine.

Is that step by step, because I don’t see what you’re talking about?
