faster internet speed

I currently have an XB7T modem connected directly to my computer but my download speed, 418mgps is well below the speed allowed by my plan, 1100mgps.  Conversely my upload speed is fine, 39.8mgps.    I live in Richmond, CA, an East Bay suburb of San Francisco but for some reason my Xfinity host is located in San Jose.  What do you recommend I do to correct this situation?  Does Xfinity have a tech support number within the U.S. I can call to rectify this situation?  It takes forever to call their customer service line and even if you do, you never get a live human being to answer the phone.

Thank you for reaching out to us here @user_daj19d. The 800-Xfinity number is the only option we have to contact customer service. We can always look into any speed and connection issues from here if you can send me a direct message with the full name and complete address for your service.

To send a direct message [private message]:

Click the "Direct Message" icon or  https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging

Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there.

   - As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.

   - An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line.

Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

   Press Enter to send it

Thank you for your reply.  For security reasons I am reluctant to post any personal information regarding myself on a  public website.  I guess I have no recourse other than to deal with the absolutely abysmal customer service department provided by Xfinity.  Xfinity's horrible call center is the only reason I'm maintaining my present cell phone service with Verizon.

Thank you!  If enough people complain, maybe they'll do something.
