Fan leaving black marks on wall
I moved my modem today to paint my walls and there was black sooty marks all behind the modem where the fan blows out. I have the black x1 modem that looks like a cube. The modem itself wasn't hot. Has anyone else had this issue? Should I swap for a newer modem.

Hello @Ittybitty1978 We appreciate you taking the time to reach out to us today. I'm sorry to hear the modem got your newly painted walls dirty. Like with any electronic, it is possible for dust particles to get inside the device so if it is affecting the surroundings, I would suggest replacing it. We'd be happy to ship one out or you can just pick one up at the nearest service center. Please let us know what would be easier for you. :)
