Extremely slow link speed (54Mbits/s) on Linux laptop with 2Gig plan

Just upgraded my gateway from an XB8 to XB10 at the insistence of xfinity due to recent network upgrade.   Phones and windows devices connect fine, but my linux laptops (running Fedora 43) which have been running just fine with the previous gateway, are now crawling... cannot get a download or upload speed greater than 20Mbps.   This is unacceptable.   There are a couple of threads on reddit describing the same issue, so this is not an equipment issue on my side, it is in the gateway.   I had not checked the speeds while on the old XB8 recently, but it was consistently getting >700Mbps on the Linux laptop when I first upgraded to the 2gig plan a few months ago.

user_91z3ek Thanks for reaching out to us for help with your speed concern with the new device. I'll do my best to help in any way I can, but if it's just one specific device having the speed trouble you may want to reach out to the manufacturer of that device if everything else is working fine. I know you said it can't be a device issue, but normally when it's only 1 device in the home it's either the device or the location it's connecting to the service. We are happy to look into everything we can on our end to help!

Can you send us a direct message with your full name, name of account holder (if different), and service address please?

To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support:

Click "Sign In" If necessary

Click the "Direct Messaging" icon (speech bubble)

Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person".

Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there

As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list

An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line

Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

Press Enter to send it
