Is it a Comcast rented gateway device ? Do you subscribe to their gigabit speed tier ? If not, any port will do.

@ImDaPappy

Use the port with the red-colored stripe next to it.

@ImDaPappy Lag is a combination of things; hardware, signal integrity, and subscriber load on your local node. Although there is hardware that advertises very low lag, they only get the figures stated in the specs under ideal, test conditions.  In addition, lag can vary from day to day, depending on the factors cited above and a few other factors.  You could literally spend the rest of your life trying to cut a tiny slice over your latency, only to have it revert as soon as conditions change.  The best option is to find out what your setup (hardware, software) requires in order for lag to not be an issue, and strive to keep it at that level.  I know gamers and streamers who spend every waking moment fretting over their 'lag', and it's a rabbit hole if you want perfection....perfection is not in the equation.
