ethernet ports not working
Hi!
I work from home and I need to be connected via ethernet cable, but none of of them are working. I've tried to restart my gateway but no luck.
Any ideas?

Yeah. A lot of people say that with Xfinity rental gear. Ethernet ports die. Seems to be pretty common.
Oddly, on every other device on the planet, they work. For decades. I even have 10 base T stuff that still works. Not sure who they bought their chipset from, but they fail. It's super rare for an Ethernet port to fail on other devices. I've even rarely seen unmanaged cheap Ethernet switches die.
It's a rental. Quick way is to swap it out at the Xfinity store. You may get someone else's problem, because the other problem is their phone app/database gets wrapped around the axle, and they can't fix their database issue. Nobody on the planet could afford to swap and scrap hardware all the time, so they pawn this failed stuff to other folks. Perhaps the next one you get will have functional Ethernet ports for a while, or perhaps not.
Not a fan of their stuff. I wouldn't use it.

Have you tried hard resetting the device back to factory defaults by pressing and holding in the recessed reset button on the rear (or use the WPS button if it doesn't have a reset button hole) for 30 seconds. This can sometimes clear up stuff like that. You will lose any customized settings if you do so, and they will need to be re-configured from scratch. It's worth a try. Good luck !
