Ethernet Link Speed

My ethernet link speed for my pc is 100 mbps for all modem ports when I should be getting 1 gbps minimum. I have tried swapping the cables (cat6e and cat5e), restarting router, various fixes in settings, nothing has worked. The wifi itself is working fine (650 mbps), why is my ethernet capped? My modem is the xb7-t.

Is this with multiple computers devices or only one ? Does the NIC / network adapter have a 10/100/1000 (gigabit) capable port ?

I tested with another computer with the same results but it is rather old, however my NIC definetly does have a gb port

Ok, try hard resetting the XB7 to factory defaults by pressing and holding in the recessed reset button on the rear (or use the WPS button if it doesn't have a reset button hole) for 25-30 seconds. This can sometimes clear up some weird behavior issues. You will lose any customized settings, and they will need to be re-configured from scratch. Still no joy ? It may be malfunctioning. Try getting it swapped out for another one and see.

Good luck !
