Ethernet in new home
We just bought a new house that has Ethernet ports installed in every room. We have our modem set up and WiFi works however none of our Ethernet ports seem to be connected. Is getting these ethernet ports connected to our WiFi something a technician could do for us?

Hey there, @user_zhqqzn! Thanks for taking the time to visit us on the Xfinity Community Forum and for posting your question about the ethernet ports in your home. You've come to a great place for support since our Digital Care Team will do whatever it can to help :) Since those ports are not provided by Xfinity or Comcast as our property or service, I'd say this is something to have a third party electrician and/or contractor take a look at for you. Our techs can typically get involved when Xfinity equipment or service is specifically experiencing an issue. Please let me know if that helps!

Is there a communications / network / utility junction box mounted somewhere, perhaps in a closet or in the basement where those Ethernet lines terminate ? Inside it, there should be an Ethernet switch with multiple ports that the lines are plugged into. Is your router / gateway device located somewhere near it ? If it's practical, you can run an Ethernet cable from a LAN port on the router to the input port on the Ethernet switch and perhaps activate the outlets yourself. Good luck !
