Ethernet connection not detected through D Link switch

I work from home and required to be connected through an Ethernet cable. The cable from the gateway to the D Link switch is recognized because my phone works fine but it is not recognizing the Internet connection from D Link to the computer. Replaced the Ethernet cable and the D Link switch but still not recognizing. My company IT dept thinks maybe there is an issue with creating another IP. The connection has worked fine in the past but quit today. Is this an issue with the Xfinity gateway? We have replaced the other components with no change

Hello @user_sf727w, thanks for reaching out for help with your networking.

When setting up a connection, the modem simply provides the signal. If you are using a 3rd party network switch, and the switch is getting that signal, then there is nothing we can change within the modem to make the D-Link ports function/not function. However, It's important when using a 3rd party networking switch/router, that you ensure your Xfinity Modem is in Bridge Mode.

Outside of that, if the D Link is getting a signal form the modem, but some ports are not working, my best recommendation would be ton contact D Link for support with their device.

D-Link managed or unmanaged switch?   What model?  That changes the answer.

I'd add: The gateway model number is also important.
