Epson Workforce 845 not connecting to Xb7 modem.

We are new to Xfinity internet.  The white Xb7 was installed but the Epson Workforce 845 printer will not connect.  The Printer printout indicates that a router/access point channel conflict has been detected.  I’ve talked with Xfinity customer service and have not found a resolution.  I’ve read that some have changed channels to connect the Xb7.  Can anyone provide step by step instructions on how to do this?  Xfinity suggested setting up port forwarding which was set up but still no connection.  Any detailed instructions would be appreciated.  Need my printer up and running as soon as possible.  Thank you.

Same problems here with an hp office jet 5255. Tearing my hair out.  Will work for a bit, then printer shows offline or idle on MacBook Pro.

Hello, @user_f6483d, sorry about the printer trouble. Have you already tried contacting EPSON? If your modem is online and all other devices are connecting to the internet this may be the best thing to do. Let us know if you need any support using your internet service or if you need your wireless network info.

I spoke with Xfinity customer service Friday night.  The printer was showing up as connected but nothing would print.  Epson was closed on the weekend, so I sent a message and they replied today suggesting a port number to use for port forwarding.  I haven’t been able to connect the printer wirelessly but I did successfully connect the Xb7 to the printer with an Ethernet cable after reading additional troubleshooting information on the Epson website.  I am now able to print from a laptop, iPad, iPhone, etc.  Thank you for checking in with me.

That's great news, I am glad you have everything working with an Ethernet cable. I just bought an HP printer. It' s a pretty basic one and I know setting these things up can be pretty tedious. I had to reset my printer several times to get it going.

In the future if you try to use Wi-Fi to operate the printer and you are still having the same issue you might want to double check the wireless settings. You can view your wireless channels, security type, and your wireless password by typing 10.0.0.1 into your URL from a device that is connected to your network. You can sign into the XB7 with admin(username) and password (lowercase as the password.) If you changed your password, you would want to use that. From here go to Connection, then Wi-Fi to view your wireless settings.

The two WiFi bands have recently been combined into one with the Comcast gateway devices. Some devices get confused and don't know how to see / talk to combined bands.

If you are not using any Xfi Pods, you can try separating the 2.4 and the 5.0 bands and give them two different broadcast names / SSID's;

Associate the printer  with the 2.4 band's SSID (broadcast name) and password.

@EG What if you ARE using Xfi pods?  Is the only choice to go back to the previous gateway?

@ksrmc  As I stated, The bands can't be separated if you are going to use their pods. Combined bands are the only way that they will function.

Well windows 10 has a option to have a hotspot, activate that and connect printer to that, the hotspot shares your internet connection, possible a work around

  1. Install Epsonnet config tool from Epson website
  2. Refresh until you see your printer (even in half connected mode, the software will find the printer, but make sure the wifi is turned on for both devices)
  3. Click on your printer to open configuration
  4. click Basic Wireless
  5. Change to ad hoc and accept the warning
  6. change back to infrastructure which now let you choose wireless mode.
  7. Choose 802.11b/g (I tried both b alone and b/g/n but none of those worked, however b/g worked).
  8. Now choose your SSID and enter your password and transmit it to the printer.
  9. Vola.
