"Enhancing our Xfinity 10G Network" and "evolving the network"

We just got this email today, and I am curious what these buzzwords mean . . .  I do _not_ care about local service outages, but rather what the changes to the network will be.  Like, additional squirrels in the system to power up our gaming?  Or maybe a native fiber connection?  Just curious if anyone knows, or maybe just knows how to figure it out (short of being around on the day of work and asking the guys what they are doing) . . .  Thanks.

@JammerNasZeroOne, Thank you for reaching out through Xfinity Community Forums. We are very excited about the 10G Network.

The Xfinity 10G Network:

  • Is a smarter, more consistent, secure network.
  • Provides a powerful connection today and builds toward a faster and more reliable tomorrow.
  • Has reliable and consistent connections, ensuring everyone can be online at once – even during peak hours.
  • Is the fastest internet in and out of the home – with millions of WiFi hotspots for faster speed everywhere.

Currently, all of Xfinity Internet is powered by the 10G Network, and no new equipment or package changes are required.

Later this year, the Xfinity 10G Network will be able to provide a reliable connection to every device in every room of your home. Additionally, we're launching Storm-Ready WiFi to maintain a reliable connection even when the power goes out.

Let us know if you have any other questions.
