Eero on XB8+XD4

I have a new Xfi 1gb setup with an XB8 gateway and an XD4 modem. My WiFi signal drops to 17mb upstairs, and I want to extend it using an Eero mesh system. However, I can only find installation help for the XB8 alone, not with the XB8+XD4 setup. Can someone provide step-by-step guidance to ensure the XD4 continues working properly?

user_bjcc28 Is there a reason for the multiple jump points for the extension of network? It is very important to keep signal cancelation in mind when looking at Wi-Fi. If you are running multiple signal boosters that are sending out multiples of any frequency, when two equal frequencies meet, they will cancel each other out. The Eero and XD4 are in proximity to each other? Have you tried to remove the XD4 from the equation? Is the home greater than 10,000 sq ft?

Hi,  I have the XB8. I bought and eero pro 6e mesh. When I turn on bridge mode the system doesn't work. If I disable the bridge mode they connect but the performance is really poor. With an Ethernet directly to the modem almost 1000bps but with the eero connected with a cable to the xb8 is extremally poor around 120mbps. I think that the cause is that there are 2 different signals. I worked for hours with eero tech support and they run several tests and configurations without success. They sent me a new one but i have the same problem. They suggested to contact Xfinity to find out if you think that there is compatibility problem.  do you have any suggestion/guidance? Thank you very much!

Did you find any solution? I’m looking into an eero mesh Wi-Fi with gateway too

FYI these same issues popped up in a similar thread two years ago

seems nothings resolved since then. Am researching buying eero mesh Wi-Fi system myself so thought I’d look at problems before I do. Following.

Ps I copied this post in case I needed it later—don’t know if it will help:

Just getting back to this.  I did go through trouble shooting steps with Xfinity. What worked for me (thanks to both Xfinity and Eero) was:

(note Eero had been up and running in Bridge mode prior to a maintenance change, so it was all set up).

Put the Xfinity unit into bridge mode.

After it comes back up disconnect all the LAN devices from the back of the xfinity unit. I had 3.  The eero and two computer connections.

Power down the Eero.

Connect the Eero to LAN port 1 (with the red dash beside it.  Any LAN port should work but the Xfinity rep recommended this port)

Power up the Eero.

I DID NOT reconnect the other two devices, instead I put them on a switch installed downstream from the Eero. Apparently having them plugged in when the modem is in bridge mode should never have worked (or not reliably anyway).
