Eero Mesh System with Xfi

There is another thread here with the issues of not being able to use their Eero Mesh with the XB-8 or Xfi. That thread has not seen any updates for about 5-6 months, and I have read through it with no resolutions provided. I am here to start another thread, to see if there has been a work around or solution to utilize my Eero mesh system with Xfinity’s equipment. I typically use my own equipment, however I had to upgrade my account because we were using too much data. Of course, it’s cheaper to get their equipment and Xfi complete than pay an extra monthly fee to get completely unlimited data. I did an initial set up of the XB-8, super easy and simple, plug and play. However, when I placed the XB-8 into bridge mode, it was not connecting to the internet. Neither my mesh nor the Xfi were connected to the internet. After reading the forum and having hours of issues, I decided to call in and restart my modem. So now the Xfi is the primary as of now, hoping to find a solution to utilize my Eero pro system.

Not sure that this is a solution for everyone but what I found is that when you enable bridge mode on Xfinity modem/router make sure that on your main Eero router bridge mode is disabled. I had them both enabled at the same time  and experienced all these issues you listed above. This way your Eero will take over routing control and Xfinity will acts as modem only. Not only that Eero mesh will control routing but wifi speed for me doubled ( 1/2 of available wired connection vs just 1/4). Hope this will help you figure out your own connection.
