Echo Dot will not connect to Xfinity Wi-Fi

I have been on the phone with Xfinity and Amazon for the last two days trying to get this issue resolved with no resolution in sight. All either one of them will say is the problem is not on our end so call the other one about the problem. The echo dot will try to connect but it just can't seem to make the connection but I don't have any problem getting any other devices to connect to the wi-fi and the echo dot has no problem connecting to other wi-fi's like the hot spot on my cell phone. Does anyone know a fix for this issue????

If you have a combined network, try separating them

Make sure u have the same WiFi band connected.. or manually do it wait for Orange light then go to WiFi on phone and connect to
Amazon-CTL network and follow steps on Amazon Alexa app on phone.. that's an open network so don't leave in auto connect and make sure u forget network after you connect to your actual home network..!

It’s the Comcast gateway. Comcast called their modem, router, WiFi combination device their gateway. I wasn’t able to put my finger on why but strange things continued to happen over time. A couple amazon echo’s stoped connecting, different computers both windows & Mac would change the network to unidentified so it looked like I was connected but it wouldn’t go to sites like Microsoft.com but could get to google. Finally I bought my own gateway instead of using the leased one from Comcast & the echo’s connected no problem & the computers have not had that issue since. I’m not sure what the gateway is doing but it’s making it so devices can’t connect or view it as a threat. Really strange.
