Dual ethernet connection

I currently have an ethernet connection to my PC via an Xfinity router. I'm shopping for a new printer and several I've looked at have ethernet capability. My question is whether I can connect a printer to my existing ethernet connection to my PC, and if so whether I'd need additional splitters/switches. Thanks.
