dual band router
security cameras need to be on 2.4 to connect tells me I'm on 5. I switch bands and it still shows that I am on 5. How can I tell what band I am on. They both have the same name.

If you are using a Comcast rented gateway device, this may or may not apply anymore as a lot of features / functionality have / has been disabled.. YMMV.
If you are not using any Xfi Pods, you can try separating the combined 2.4 and the 5.0 bands and give them two different broadcast names / SSID's;

Associate the cameras with the new 2.4 SSID (broadcast name) and password. Good luck !
