Downstream power levels in spec?

Hello! I have been having random internet fluctuations that don't resolve until I restart my gateway. Now that I, as well as my roommates all, work from home this has become a problem.

When the internet becomes an issue the levels are around 10.5dBmV although sometimes they hit around 10.9dBmV. That is the highest I have seen on my status page.

I am using an official gateway from Xfinity. Model: CGM4981COM from Technicolor

Hello, @CJIsHere. Thank you for sharing your signal reports with us. I would love to look into what's causing the fluctuation on your reports further. I do see currently the downstream signals are out of spec when running the reports on my end. Do you notice any damage to the coax line within your home? Have you had the opportunity to unscrew/screw the coax line at the wall outlet and on the back of the modem? Does the line have a splitter installed anywhere?

There's a chance the coax line or the connectors at the wall panel are bad. I do recommend seeing if replacing the coax line inside your home helps improve the connection or other adjustments to your set up (we offer replacement coax at our Xfinity stores free of charge). I'm not entirely sure about the installation of the panel, but it's definitely worth a shot to see if it's separated. Sometimes the lines run directly to the plate and there might not be an option to screw on another at entry. If not, we can also look into setting up an appointment to have a tech inspect the signals on site. Any wiring inside the home would not be Comcast's responsibility, and there may be a charge associated if the issues are originating from inside. If the issues are caused from outside wiring or our modem/gateway/equipment, there wouldn't be a charge. Please keep me posted if you discover anything with the line!

@XfinityStephanieK alright, ill check the panel in the morning. If I am able to connect the connection behind the panel to the gateway I will try that. Otherwise I'll reply here and try to get a tech out
