Download speed is not as advertised

I signed up with Xfinity understanding that we had an agreement that i would get roughly or close ~1gigabit per sec download speeds but after continuously and rigorously checking the speed I'm averaging 300 Mbs ~ 500 Mbs. Mind you I am testing on a 2025 Asus ROG Strix Scar 18" 2025 model, monster of a gaming laptop, with a literal modem proximity of less than 15 feet. This is unacceptable and grounds for false advertising. Please reach out to me and correct this matter or I will be forced to file civil charges against your company.

@Aziz_313

Thanks for reaching out to us, we do apologize for any inconvenience you're having.

Depending on how you're running your speed test,  you may not get an accurate reading if you're doing it via Wi-Fi, the best way to determine if your plan is providing you the speed you're paying for is if you're using our Xfinity modem is to jump on the Xfinity app and run a speed test from the Xfinity app as that will test the speeds that are actually coming into the modem.

 If you don't have an Xfinity modem what you need to do is on a hard wired speed test from your laptop or PC straight to the back of your modem, if you have a separate Wi-Fi router make sure you bypass the Wi-Fi router and go directly to your modem with an Ethernet connection directly to your laptop or PC.

If you still receive slow speeds even with the hardwire connection and a compatible device, you can always jump on the awesome Xfinity app and run through some troubleshooting steps with our chat assistant. If the issue cannot be fixed remotely our chat assistant will connect you with a live agent that can schedule a technician visit to come to the home to check everything inside and out
