Does Xfinity Gateway act as an unmanaged switch even in bridge mode?

I have an Xfinity Gateway that I have put in bridge mode and I have connected one of my mesh routers to one of the LAN ports to create my home network. Now, I'd like to create a wired backhaul for the other endpoints in my mesh network by connecting the WAN ports of the other endpoints to the other LAN ports of the Gateway like I would do with an unmanaged switch. Will this work? Does the Gateway act as a switch when it is in bridge mode and the main router of the mesh network is connected to one of the LAN ports of the Gateway?

When in bridge mode, the Xfinity gateway devices act only as straight cable modems / passthrough devices. And only one LAN port will be active.

Thank you for reaching out to us here @user_x952p3. That information was correct. The gateway will only act as a straight cable modem.
