Does the "Courtesy Month" for data overage reset?

I received an data overage email on 11/29/2020 that states "This is your last complimentary month for the next 12 months."

Is this "Courtesy Month" for the life of the internet plan?  Or does it reset every January 1st?

* I did a forum search and found someone asked similar question in the Internet Archive but I was not able to see the answer

That's my understanding, although it may be that the end date in your example is March 2021 rather than April. I'm not sure -- the cap is not in effect yet in my area (South-Central PA, coming here 1-1-2021). I'm hoping that the usage meter area in My Account will show overage status and start/end dates. We'll see.

Please see https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/data-usage-plan, especially the "What happens if I use more than 1.2 terabytes in a month?" link. When you use your courtesy month you won't receive another one until 12 months have passed. If you exceed the cap a second time during that 12 month period you'll be charged for the overage, and receive no more courtesy months.

Thanks!  From the link you have provided

However, if you use more than 1.2 TB two times in a 12-month period, no more courtesy months will be given. The 12-month period begins the first time you exceed 1.2 TB.

Let me re-word that passage to see if I understand it correctly -- The first overage triggers a 12-month period where you can be charged overage fee (if overage occurs).

For example, if your first overage happens in March 2020, then between April 2020 to April 2021 any overage will incur fee.
