DMZ doesn't seem to work
I have xfinity fiber to my house with a X5001 modem/router.
I have 10.0.0.2 set as static on router behind the xfinity modem/router.
I have 10.0.0.2 set as the DMZ. I set this using the xfinity app.
I have advance security turned off (in the app). I have firewall security set to low for v4 and v6 on the 10.0.0.1 interface.
Up until about 2 weeks ago this was working fine. Now it seems like the xfinity router/modem is blocking requests to the dmz.
It seems the the router hardware never gets the update from the app to put that IP in the DMZ. Or maybe there is some other security setting I'm not aware of.
Any one have any suggestions?

Thanks for taking the time to let us know about the trouble you're having. We'd love to further investigate this issue together. Would you be willing to send us a private message with your full name and address?
To send a "Peer to peer" ("Private") message:
Click "Sign in" if necessary
-Click the "Direct Message" icon (square chat icon in the upper right corner of your screen next to the bell icon)
-Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
-Type "Xfinity Support" in the "To:" line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list that appears, and the "Xfinity Support" graphic will replace the "To:" line
-Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
-Press Enter to send it

I just spoke with xfinity on the phone as recommended. They said there is no way to do that with the fiber modem. they don't have admin rights to my modem to do that. the option has been removed from my admin interface. the xfinity website refers me to the app. The app allows the change but it is ineffective.
She said there is no one this can be escalated to. She seemed to understand the issue. I find this all hard to believe.
Any suggestions? Thanks.

I would have hoped they could tell you how a DMZ works with fiber, but perhaps not.
Something to try: Outside chance with your crippleware? Everyone else on the planet handles port forwards and DMZ's with static IP addresses. Xfinity does not. Perhaps use a dhcp address on what you want to nakedly expose, then use the silly phone app (that shouldn't exist) to put that a machine on the DMZ.
Perhaps then, the offsite database can pick up the change, and somehow, by some means, send the config down to your gateway and enable the feature since they crippled the user interface on all of their gear. It might take a power cycle to get the config from the remote database -- or -- if that's wrapped around the axle, then perhaps not.
Good Luck!

Xfinity tech support says they do not have access to change dmz settings on my fiber router. I know that ports are being blocked when I test. Is it possible that the xfinity modem is blocking incoming ports based on some security setting? I suppose even if the DMZ was setup properly, it wouldn't work properly if there is some security screen done on packets before then. Is there a way to see any logs to see what is happening? When I check logs on the 10.0.0.1 interface I can see log entries for when the port forwards are setup. But I don't see that for the dmz setup. Any suggestions?
