Disabling wifi vs. bridge mode to use eero and ethernet

I've seen a few different posts on this but not sure I saw a final answer and resolution.  Currently have xFi gateway connected to eero gateway to leverage the mesh system for home Wifi (which is working great).  In the process of building a detached garage/home office and want to extend the network by running cat6 cable underground to a switch in the garage and then hardwire a few devices (tvs for streaming, PCs for gaming, etc.) from there.

Question is - if I just disable wifi from the xFi gateway does this still allow me to connect the Cat6 to the xFi gateway to run internet out to the new structure?  I've read in some forums that if I have the xFi gateway in bridge mode it will disable the ability for me to extend internet from the other ethernet ports on the xFi gateway.  Before I start purchasing additional networking equipment, cat6 cable, etc. hoping to confirm the right set up!

user_154252 While in bridge mode, the gateway only turns off the router portion of the device. You would still be able to use any free ethernet ports in the back of the device for connections to the internet. Hope this clears up an confusion for you.

That's not quite correct. When the device is in bridge mode, only ONE of the Ethernet ports is available.

Thank you.  I'll be setting up the xfinity -> eero -> switch flow to manage all of devices off the eero.
