Different Gateway = Different PUBLIC IP?
I need my public id change and vpn isn't an option. Will switching to business internet with a new gateway change my PUBLIC ip if its using the same black cable cord or do they install a new cable cord when they install your business internet?

@user_xpve8x Thank you for taking the time to reach to out to us here on our Xfinity Forums. Removing and replacing the coaxial line isn't what would change your IP address, you can follow the steps in this article though to release and renew your IP address: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/releasing-and-renewing-ip-address Let me know if this helps.

FWIW. Doing that on a computer / device that is connected to a stand-alone router or a combo modem / router gateway device will only serve to renew / change the LAN / private IP address that is assigned to a computer / device by the router's built-in DHCP server. It will not renew the WAN / public IP address that is assigned to the router by Comcast's / system / DHCP server.

You don't need to change to Business Class Service. You can just get the gateway swapped out for a new / different one. It will have a new MAC address which will force their DHCP server to assign a new public / WAN IP address to your connection.
