Devices requiring 2.4 GHz network will not connect to XFi XB8

I have several devices that require 2.4 GHz in my new home.  I need to download important software upgrades and they will not recognize the XFi box.  They are not old (only if four years is old).  In reviewing online information previous Xfi would let you choose the band.  I can't find that in the app for the XB8 and the online information.  I need to get these downloads.  I am sure there is a fix/workaround.  Thank you.
