Default credentials for ARRIS TG1682P

I have an ARRIS TG1682P modem provided by Xfinity.

I would like to update the password from the factory settings and create another access point. Support told me that I own this modem and that they do not have access to it.

I accessed the modem via https://10.0.0.1 and tried typical login combinations like "admin-password" or "admin-admin," but neither worked. There is no login password information on the router body.

I reset the modem using the button on the back, but nothing changed. Even the Wi-Fi settings are still the same.

Does anyone know the default credentials for an ARRIS TG1682P modem?

Did you hold the button in for 25-30 seconds ?

Does anyone know the default credentials for an ARRIS TG1682P modem?

The default username should be admin, and the default password should be password after a proper full factory reset of the device is done.

No, I tried resetting several times, holding the button down for up to a minute. The result is always the same: after about five seconds, the lights on the modem turn off and reload with the current settings. The standard login and password combinations do not work.

You can also try to hold the reset button for 30 seconds, unplug the power to the modem, wait 30 seconds, plug it back in, all while still holding the reset button, and then finally let go 30 seconds after restoring power. That will check if the reset function is working on both the reboot and boot-up process for the modem.

I, too, am having the same issue with a modem Xfinity sent me, with no manual or information. Also, the app doesn't control the modem, so I can't do anything with my Wi-Fi, especially without the default admin password. Please, Xfinity, escalate this to your highest-tier tech support.
