Data Usage

my data usage on my internet has gone over for the past two months but we haven't been using our wifi more then usual. is there a way to wipe all of the devices off of my Gateway and start fresh?

Welcome to our Xfinity Community Forums for help with your data! We offer 1.2 TB with your plan and you can also add Unlimited Data for an extra cost. However, if you believe the usage is incorrect or are unsure where it is coming from, our Xfinity app can help you assign devices to profiles and measure usage that way. You can also disconnect and pause the devices especially ones you do not recognize. 

 

Another thing to look at is background apps and programs that may be using up your data. You can check out more at: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/xfinity-internet-background-data-usage

If you believe there may be fraudulent activity on your usage please feel free to send us a message directly with your name and service address. 

To send a direct message: 

  • Make sure you are signed in here in the Xfinity Forum. Click "Sign In" if necessary
  • Click the "Direct Message" icon (square chat icon in the upper right corner of your screen next to the bell icon)
  • Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
  • Type "Xfinity Support" in the "To:" line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list which appears. The "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
  • Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
  • Press Enter to send it
