Damaged cable line
I wanted to switch from Breezeline cable Internet to xfinity fiber optic Internet. Xfinity has been horrible and I’m not even connected to the Internet yet. They scheduled to come out June 17th. Technician shows up and says i can’t connect you today because no one marked your underground lines or buried the fiber optic line and he claimed he could not run a line across my driveway. He said he would make some called and let me know the status. Instead he left and i never heard anything back. 2 days later i received a message on their app stating someone would be out in 7-10 days to bury the fiber optic line. And once closer to the date they would advise even though i did not need to be home. Well they came today without notice. Upon them burying their line my existing internet stopped working. I contacted xfinity online and the online agent just says she can’t visibly confirm if they damaged it or not. But it worked before they came and now it does not. I reached out to Breezeline to confirm there was no outage with them and it was not. They also said they no longer receiving a signal from my modem . Which indicated to them there was likely damage to the cable line. I relayed that to xfinity. They just said someone will be out on July 4th to check. They didn’t even ask if that was a good date for me to be here. I also noted I’ll be without internet for that long. And they said they did not have any appointments in my area sooner. That seems like a them problem and not a me problem. Any one experience something similar?

Thanks for taking the time to reach out user_8sutl2! Switching providers is already a chore, so I can completely understand your frustration.
To be transparent about the process, unlike a standard service call, these crews don't require you to be home because the work happens entirely outside, which is why they provide a date range rather than a specific appointment. While we aim for a quick turnaround, several external factors can occasionally cause delays.
I'd be happy to take a closer look and be sure you're successfully schedule. Please send me a direct message with your full name and service address, so we can take a look.
