daisy chain
my xfinity gateway is on the second floor, away from the panel with all the cat6 cabling the builder installed in one of the wic upstairs. the wifi signal is not the greatest in the remotes corners, or on my back patio. my solution would be to create a daisy chain with two wireless routers connected in series (one to bring the lan signal to the cables panel, and the second one to work as a wifi router downstairs).
my question is: is the gateway going to allow this kind of connection?
thanks!

Actually, the best recommendation would be to use a WiFi Boost Pod! Anytime a daisy chain is done, it degrades the signal at every connecting point and the equipment at the point can struggle to operate. I know that when I moved in my place last year, the previous attempt at splitting the signal around the home for cable box connections in various rooms actually was the cause of signal issues that were so bad our boxes would go out and we'd lose internet connection altogether. Anything connected on that line would suffer.
A WiFi Boost Pod would create a wireless mesh network and is recommended for homes with multiple stories and/or of a larger size. Check out our website for more information on them and where you can also directly order them from.
