Daily WAN disconnects (~24hr cycle) — Tier 2 confirmed no path to network engineering / CMTS diagnostics
Hi — hoping to get connected with someone who has access to CMTS-side diagnostics, since I've exhausted what phone support (including Tier 2) is able to do.
The issue: My WAN connection has disconnected on a near-exact 24-hour cycle for 12+ consecutive days, always in the early morning window (roughly 6:20–7:15 AM). Each disconnect is preceded by a "high packet loss" warning on my firewall, and the connection auto-recovers 8–11 minutes later on its own.
What I've already ruled out:
- Not cabling/local hardware — I have a second Xfinity-provided modem (VoIP/eMTA) on the same service that has been stable for 23+ days with zero issues, isolating this to my data modem or its specific line.
- Not thermal/environmental — I checked disconnect times against sunrise across the date range; the offset varies by over 45 minutes day to day, ruling out a sunrise/temperature-driven trigger.
- Not a wall-clock schedule — the interval from restore-to-next-disconnect is consistently ~23h40m–24h39m, which points to a periodic renewal/ranging cycle (e.g., DHCP lease renewal) rather than a fixed daily maintenance time.
What I need: Someone who can pull my modem's CMTS-side event log — specifically T3/T4 timeout events, SYNC failures, and lease renewal history — around the timestamps below, and check whether there's a lease/ranging configuration issue on my line or provisioning profile.
Account info: available via DM
Sample timestamps (full log available):
- Aug 28, 6:30:44 AM (restored 6:39:41 AM)
- Sep 3, 6:23:41 AM (restored 6:34:40 AM)
- Sep 7, 6:24:15 AM (restored 6:34:34 AM)
What's already been tried: Two phone calls with two different Tier 2 reps who confirmed they only have ping-level visibility into my modem and no path to forward this to network engineering. I'm posting here because I understand this forum has escalation access that standard phone support doesn't.
Appreciate any help getting this in front of the right team.

I will be more than happy to help with your request. To begin, would you mind sending me your name and the address to your account in a Direct message?
To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support:
Click "Sign In" if necessary
Click the "Direct Messaging" icon
Click the "Start New Conversation" (pencil and paper) icon
The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there
- As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list
- An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
Press Enter to send it.
