Consistent Packet Loss On Comcast Backbone

With an Ethernet and tested with wireless connection I’ve been experiencing serious packet loss and lag in multiple online games and drops in internet speed. After running continuous traceroutes using PingPlotter, I’ve found that the issue is not with my home setup, but instead originates from a Comcast backbone router:

be-39941-cs04.9greatoaks.ca.ibone.comcast.net (IP: 68.86.93.253)

  • My modem, router, and LAN are clean — 0% loss on the first 7 hops
  • Packet loss and jitter begin at hop 8 and directly affect gameplay
  • The issue is consistent across multiple servers and games
  • PingPlotter graphs confirm this router is intermittently dropping packets

I’m requesting:

  1. Escalation to Tier 2 or Network Engineering
  2. Investigation of the affected backbone router
  3. Any suggestions on how I can work around this until it’s resolved

Please let me know if logs or .pp2 exports would help.
