Connection dropping when WAN DHCP lease is renewed every 1 hour

I've noticed brief connection interruptions for a couple months now and have only recently decided to dig into the issue.  I finally narrowed it down to the WAN DHCP lease renewal process.  My WAN lease is only set to 1 hour by xfinity, cannot be changed on my end.  Every time the lease renews i drop 2-3 pings (pinging 8.8.8.8).  This has become very disruptive as it happens every hour and interrupts meetings, or other connection oriented applications.  Is there a reason xfinity is setting the lease time to 1 hour? Can this be updated to something like 24 hours to limit this interruption???

@apond  I'm sorry to hear if your connection drops. We are here to help. I know drops in your connection are never fun. How long are the drops for?  When did this start? Does the connection come back or do you have to perform steps to resolve?

Can you tell us more about your setup? Do you have any splitters, amplifiers, separate routers etc connected?
