Connecting to 6 GHz band
I have a laptop with an intel AX210 wifi adapter that supports tri band. However the Xfinity router connects it to the 5 GHz band.
how can I create another network and only assign it the 6 GHz band?
the router is the newest Xfinity Xb8 which supports tri band.

Hey @dmbenson ,
Thank you for contacting customer support through our Xfinity Community Forums. I hope you are doing well. I would be more than happy to offer my assistance. There is currently a known issue with the Intel AX210 WiFi Adapter.
We have found that when using the adapter with a Windows 10 device, that issues to effectively steer between bands is having issues. We recommend installing Windows 11 which is helping the adapter connect more easily to the desired network.
Is your device currently on Windows 10 or Windows 11? If already on Windows 11, a different adapter may be recommended in order to access and connect to the 6 GHz WiFi band.

The real answer is a bit simpler, and sadder.
If you use Xfinity PODs, you are out of luck as they don't support 6. Which is a huge insult because they dont' really tell you this and just harp on their 6 support but from Modem ONLY. Most people get the pods thinking they will get full speed capabilities of their service, and they simply can't. At least until they release a POD 6, which lets be honest, it's a year after they released their 6 modem and STILL no 6 pods... So you'll take it on the chin like every other Xfinity customer that has been misled. Oh, and don't for a second think they will give you free upgrades on the POD when they finally do (if ever)... So they sold you big promise, with a huge limitation, and simply didn't tell you the down side.
2nd, 99% of the speed issues are because of the Channel you are on. You can go into your Hardware properties of your Wifi adapter (on device not router) and tweak things like preferences for 6 or 5/6, etc. (even disabling the 2.4)
Most times you can simply do a "Forget" to reset the wifi and it will grab a higher 5 Channel.
