Connecting thermostat to 2.4ghz network

Hello,

My thermostat is not working properly since it is connected to the 5ghz network. In my xFi app I do not have the option to separate these networks. I also logged in to admin and it does not allow me to change one of the network names. You can only see the 5ghz network to connect to. How can I fix this?

Hello @user_a66aa2 and thank you for reaching out to our Xfinity Forums Community for help with the thermostat feature. I apologize for the issues you've encountered, and my team would like to assist.

Have you already clicked the Connect tab, Select your network. Then check a box, at the top, to separate the networks.  You can then rename them and also change password(s).

Steps to Switch/Change the WiFi Channel in xFi App
  1. Open the Xfinity app, and sign in with your Xfinity ID and password.
  2. Select the Connect tab.
  3. Select your network.
  4. Select Advanced Settings.
  5. Select 2.4 and 5GHz WiFi.
  6. If you would like to select a specific WiFi channel, select Edit next to 2.4 or 5GHz.

@XfinityFelicia when I go to Connect > click on network this is what I see. I do not see a check box.

Let's try this path: Connect > Select Network > pencil icon "view or edit wifi settings > you can try to separate the networks 2.4 and 5ghz, there by renaming them.

I no longer work for Comcast.

Thank you! It is still not showing an option to separate them when I try that way.
