Connecting an Orbi RBR50

New customer and it seems impossible to actually talk or chat with a human.  I need to connect my Orbi to my XFi system but can't find a guide.  I assume I need to turn on bridge mode, etc but can't find documentation.  I further assume that the orange labeled port its the one I should be using but again no documentation.  Any ideas?

Xfinity isn't doing themselves any favors by not just breaking down and hiring a doc contractor to write/compile a manual.  Product manager fail too.

Here's a page that may work for you.  Log into your gateway locally and set bridge mode:  https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/wireless-gateway-enable-disable-bridge-mode

It is also possible that it might not work, or the settings won't stick.  Seems to be some problematic communication with a backend server that holds your router settings offsite for some, but you may get 'lucky'.  Not sure which port (I'd guess the orange one too), but if not, only one Ethernet port works in bridge mode so you might have to try the other ones if orange doesn't work.  They just say "the first port".....IF it's labeled.

In any case, if you are going to set an Xfinity gateway to bridge mode, you might as well save yourself $14/month if you are renting it and buy a cheap 3rd party modem.  Find one for your speed tier here:  https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/list-of-approved-cable-modems  You don't have to buy it there.  Find the same model online or at a box store like Wally World.  Then you won't have to worry about your gateway settings working.

From there, it's just the orbi/router setup guide.

Thanks for letting us know about the trouble you're having getting set up, @user_942f72. It looks like there's a good link in the above comment that can help you set up Bridge Mode. Were you able to get this active?

@XfinityJoshuaE No - step 1 is to log into the device.  My Xfinity username/password don't work in this case.  I hope it is not something as simple as admin and root...

Spent the last hour trying to get to a human for something as simple as changing the email associated with my account.  Automated hell.  I'll go to the nearest Xfinity location and return my modem and switch away from Xfinity...

@user_942f72  Oh no, this is certainly not the experience we want to hear of with changing the email address associated with your Xfinity ID. It sounds like you were eventually able to do so, but here is a article that covers steps for doing so in the future right through Xfinity Myaccount.

After logging in, were you successful in disabling Bridge Mode to begin connecting your Orbi to the network?

I no longer work for Comcast.
