Your Xfinity network is designed to direct devices to connect to the access point where it gets the best connection. This means it is entirely possible that you could be trying to connect a device in a room on the other side of the house and it may still connect directly to your gateway instead of a pod if the direct connection gives that device better support.
For this process to work, you will not be able to directly connect devices to a specific pod.
Are you having trouble with getting an adequate wifi connection on some of your devices? We would be more than happy to work with you to find a workaround if that's the case, so please let us know. :)
