Configuring IPv6 in RT-AX86U PRO Router

user_stpwel Hello and thank you for reaching out to Xfinity via our community forums. Yes, Xfinity Internet does support IPv6! They've been working on implementing it for a while now. Whether you can switch to IPv6 from IPv4 in your router depends on a few things:

• Your Xfinity modem/gateway: Our Xb7 and Xb8 gateways support IPv6, but older models do not. If you're using your own modem, it needs to be IPv6 compatible.
• Your router: Your router also needs to support IPv6. Most modern routers do, but it's worth checking your router's documentation or manufacturer's website to be sure.
• Your router's firmware: Even if your router supports IPv6, it might need a firmware update to have the latest features and compatibility.
