Computer not showing my wifi

I have a windows 10 pc not showing my wifi. I saw some older threads saying changing my wifi mode from 802.11 ax or ac back to g/n would fix the issue. The problem is the new xfinity gateway won’t let me change the mode. Hoping I don’t have to get rid of this computer.

What ended up fixing it somehow was getting my gateway completely deactivated and setting it up from scratch again.

A lot of stuff doesn't ride well with band steering/combined signals.  You can see if you change settings on your gateway with the phone app.  There's a link here with some info:  https://forums.xfinity.com/conversations/your-home-network/5g-and-25g/64f87c24a4ef9725866596ea   But like you say, likely not if it is new Xfinity.

What's cheap?  A USB WiFi adapter for your computer.  They make small ones that don't stick out.  Maybe less than $10. A bit more complex if it's a laptop, is changing out the WiFi hardware in the laptop.  Depends on what hardware you need.  The slots vary, could be M.2 or Half-Mini PCI-E form factor, or something else depending on what it is.

Hello, thanks for taking the time to reach out today. This link has information on how to change the home network's WiFi channel or mode using the Admin Tool https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/change-wifi-mode-admin-tool-xfinity-xfi.
