Commscope Amplifier with no Power input - Installed incorrectly?

Hello,

We have been having intermittent internet connection issues, and I'm wondering if the Commscope Amplifier wiring is the problem.  An Xfinity technician installed a Commscope CSMAPDU5VP amplifier at our house external box (as shown in picture), but there is no connection to the "Power In" port on the amplifier (bottom right in picture).    The amplifier was installed when we added another coax line.      "Out 1" is the new line, Out 2 and Out3 were already installed when the technician came.  Doesn't the amplifier need a power input connection in order to amplify the signal?    Any help would be appreciated thanks.

Can't see your pic. Since you are a new poster, it needs to be approved by a Forum Admin. That could take some time. In the interim, you could try hosting it at one of those free third-party pic hosting sites like Imgur or Photobucket and post the link to it here.

Yes. Is the green light on the powered splitter on ? It needs power or it's worthless if not worse..

Port 1 ( look at the port 1 label right above the coax connector) is also remote power, look at whatever is being fed from port 1, there should be a power splitter (if there’s a piece of equipment there) and a power supply
