Comcast vs Florida Weather

Why everytime it rain down here in my area, my internet goes to the crapper? Is the equipment suffering from water damage causing shortages or what? Soon as those grey clouds start to show up, I know for sure my internet is going to start bugging out. Latency in the game I play spike all nasty. Why? Miami Gardens, FL 33056
