Cold weather connection issues

I’m having internet issues since the temperatures got below 20 degrees today. This has happened for three years.

Our internet has been going out every 5-10 minutes since Saturday night (Jan 13)

I understand the Chicagoland area gets hit with negative temps that triple due to the lake effect - but I mean, this isn't a new phenomenon and I wish Comcast took some measures annually.

We are getting a service call this week, miraculously I don't see an outage in neighboring areas, just us.

@user_a3mjax  I’m experiencing the same exact issue and I did last year too. It’s always my area but I have neighbors on the next street that has service and when I look at the outage map it says that there isn’t any issues with my service but as soon as the weather warms up it will come back on.

@user_fcjcu4 We can help you troubleshoot your connection issues today. Have you tried using our Xfinity app? It's a great tool to use when needing to troubleshoot.

Ours has been out all day. I've tried to report it but it doesn't seem to let me really. They do the check (Xfinity assistant) and then respond that everything is good on their end. No other outages near me reported ....but I can't help to wonder if that's cuz it's not letting people report it. I have an appt for this weekend but otherwise, all I get is the automated chat/text saying no issues were found on their end. Idk why they changed the app so drastically either cuz it [Edited: "Language"] now. I get the weather isn't anyone's fault - my complaint is the lack of communication and not being able to get anything answered/reported.

Our internet and TV go out when temp is below 20 degrees also.  Our cable is actually buried all the way to the highway.  We wrapped the lines coming into the house, and this has seemed to help so far. Hope it helps.
