CODA56 upload capped at ~40 Mbps on 300/100 plan — possible bootfile/provisioning issue

Hello,

I recently replaced my old Netgear CM500 with a Hitron CODA56.

My Plans shows 300 / 100 Mbps, Broadband Facts label also shows: Typical download 352 Mbps/ upload 117 Mbps.

However, my actual speed is still approximately 340 Mbps down / 40 Mbps up, essentially the same upload speed I had on the old 300/35 profile.

I checked the CODA56 diagnostics , which was good.

  • DOCSIS 3.1 downstream OFDM: locked
  • DOCSIS 3.1 upstream OFDMA: OPERATE

I have already power-cycled the CODA56 after my account began showing 300/100, but the upload remains capped around 40 Mbps.

This appears very similar to this CODA56 case, where the upload was also capped around 40 Mbps and Xfinity found an incorrect bootfile/provisioning issue:

Could an Xfinity employee please check:

  1. The actual bootfile assigned to my CODA56.
  2. The upstream service-flow/provisioning rate.
  3. Whether the modem is still receiving the legacy 300/35 profile instead of the current 300/100 profile.
  4. Reprovision the modem if necessary.

Best Regards,

Anastasia

user_j9sy46 Hello, and thanks for providing such detailed information. It sounds like you've already done some excellent troubleshooting, including verifying that your account reflects the 300/100 Mbps tier, confirming the DOCSIS 3.1 OFDM and OFDMA channels are locked and operational, and power-cycling the modem after the speed change. Based on what you've described, I can certainly understand why you'd be concerned that the modem may still be receiving a legacy provisioning profile, especially since your upload speeds remain around 40 Mbps despite the account showing 300/100 Mbps service. We'd be happy to take a closer look at the account and modem provisioning to determine whether the correct bootfile and service profile are assigned and whether any additional troubleshooting or reprovisioning may be needed. Could you please send our team a Direct Message with your name and service address? Our team can take a further look at this issue.
