Why would there be a small amount of a grease type substance occasionally dripping from the bottom of the coax cable that come into the house?

Hi there @user_ede4ff Thanks for reaching out to us here in the Forums. There should not be anything dripping from the coax cable at all. Has this just started? Also, does this happen all the time or only during inclement weather?

If the cable is the "flooded coax" kind it may have be filled with silicone grease or a similar gel. Such cables are intended for outdoor/underground installation, not for use inside a home.

@EG Thank you for responding. No, it is black. An XFinity tech came out and resolved the issue. it turns out that this was an outdoor coax coming into the house that has a grease type substance inside to protect again damage. Water was getting into the line from the outside and causing the grease to come out. Assumming that I understood him correctly. The cable has been replace and I am told that this should stop the issue. Thank you again.
