Close/Solved - New xfinity NOW internet, with ~ 10 short, < 5 min service drops/day & seemingly good signal levels
Close/delete - Tech replaced very old cable connectors and filters outside. Assume issue is resolved. If not, I'll repost.

I DO have an owned similar modem that I would prefer to use for troubleshooting rather than waste a technicians and my time with a visit.
Signal levels SEEM to be acceptable every time I check them. Are official signal requirements published somewhere? All I find are user supplied.

SNR - all slightly over 40 (consistent)
pwr - usually around -1 ; right now -4.6
UPSTREAM
pwr 35.75 - 40.43
small numbers, ~140, of both correctable & uncorrectable codewords

If I run a test when internet is actually down I get something that appears to be a name resolution error (from memory).
Other threads suggest using DM with support to help resolve but apparently posting is required first, so here is the post.
Other thoughts, things to try, etc are welcome.
