Check eligibility of used cable modem

Is there a way to verify whether a previously-used cable modem is eligible to connect to Xfinity? I understand that in some cases, the modem might already be associated with another customer, making it more difficult to re-use.

I can provide the HFC MAC address of the modem in question.

@kanishka42   First, thank you for choosing Xfinity as your service provider. I would be more than happy to assist you today. Yes, we can check the device's eligibility using the MAC address.  To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support: Go to xfinityforums.com
Click "Sign In" if necessary
Click the "Direct Messaging" icon
Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there
- As you are typing, a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list
- An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
Press Enter to send it.

Thank you for allowing us to help with your equipment concerns, kanishka42. As discussed, the equipment is compatible, and we don’t see it listed under any other account on our end. You’ll just need to verify with the seller that it has been removed from any previous locations. If you need assistance adding the equipment or have any other questions, feel free to submit a new public request. Have a great rest of your day!
