Channels droping

Since this morning I've had intermittent connection issues.  Logging into the admin setting of the XB8 shows that the modem keeps dropping and reconnecting the downstream and upstream channels.

Normally I have 32 regular download channels and 2 odfm download channels.  For upsteam 4 regular and 1 odfm.

Every minute refreshing the page is showing a different number of channels connected.  It goes from just the ofdm  channels being locked up to all of the upstream and anywhere from 2 - 20 downstream.

The internet issues I've been experiencing are intermittent slow loading of websites.

Xfinity speed test is all over the map, from 100 down up to 800 down.  I subscribe to 1 gig.

The levels themselves for SNR and powerlevels all look strong so I'm not sure why the channels keep dropping.

I called phone support but they weren't able to help.

If an xfinity rep can assist with troubleshooting this I would appreciate it.

Good morning, thank you for taking the time to reach out through Xfinity Forums for assistance with your connection. Are you still experiencing issues at this time?

There may be issues in the area that may not be showing in the app or on the Status Center for checking interruptions.

You can please send us a direct message with your full name and service address for further assistance.

  • Make sure you are signed in here in the Xfinity Forum. Click "Sign In" if necessary
  • Click the "Direct Message" icon (square chat icon in the upper right corner of your screen next to the bell icon)
  • Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
  • Type "Xfinity Support" in the "To:" line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list which appears. The "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
  • Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
  • Press Enter to send it
