Changing Security Mode on XFI ADVANCED GATEWAY (XB8)???

Hello,

I recently got a new modem (the XB8).

I need to change my wifi security mode from WPA3 to WPA2 but it says "Wi-Fi Mode, Security Mode, Channel Selection, Channel Mode, and Channel Bandwidth are being managed automatically to help optimize your home Wi-Fi network and improve Wi-Fi coverage." in the admin.

How can I change these settings?

Hello, @user_s7oko8

The default security mode for every wireless gateway should be WPA/WPA2. This gives the best security and performance for newer devices. Have you attempted to make the security changes in the Admin Too? This article https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/wifi-change-admin-tool may help and similar to the previous one posted.

Hello. The default setting is WPA3. And all the settings in the admin tool are locked down. Says they are "managed by Xfinity" to ensure the best connection, but there is no option to disable that or change them yourself. An article on Xfinity said the new XB8 modems cannot be changed by us. But when I called Xfinity they would not change it either.

With our most updated devices, like the XB8, there are some limitations to certain adjustments you can make on the admin tool as you run into them. The xFi Gateway Software Enhancements with new Xfinity Gateways manage these settings to ensure you have the best connection. Is there a reason you wanted to make these changes?

@EG Thank you, I did come across that article. Unfortunately the settings are locked down on the newer modems and xfinity support had no clue what I was asking on the phone.
