Changing my public IP address
I've been trying to have my IP address changed. I've been into a few Xfinity office stores, and turned away as they weren't able to help. And they informed that they couldn't send a message to tech support for me.
I've been on the chat message system and have been told that they wouldn't be able to do that for me.
I've called into the phone system 10 times and been placed on hold or hungup on. Why is this so hard for a company that set my IP address?

Comcast does not provide a way to change your IP address and they won't change it for you.
If you're using your own modem and router or modem-router gateway, just clone the MAC address.
If you're using a rental Comcast gateway you'd have to:
A VPN is another possibility. If you use one your public IP won't actually change, but systems you connect to will see the IP provided by the VPN rather than your actual public IP.

@BruceW is correct, we do not have an option to change your IP address The only option we would have for the IP address is to release or renew those. You can view a video of how to perform that at https://kb-resources.cable.comcast.com/proxy/assets/km/aem/comcast/residential/cu-videos/HOW3588_208874_1b58.mp4
