Certain Devices Can’t Connect to Xfinity Storm Ready Pro Wi-Fi Extender During Outages
Hi,
I’m using the Xfinity “Storm Ready Pro Wi-Fi Extender,” and while the extender isfunctioning during outages, certain devices are unable to connect to it when the main network goes down. This defeats the purpose of the backup solution, since the devices I need to stay online lose connectivity at exactly the wrong time.
The main issue:
• The extender broadcasts a backup network during outages, but some of my devices can’t detect or connect to it.
• When I contacted support during the outage, I was told you couldn’t troubleshoot extender issues while the outage was happening—which is the only time this issue occurs.
I need this escalated to someone who can help:
• Troubleshoot why specific devices can’t connect to the backup Wi-Fi.
• Confirm compatibility settings or necessary configurations.
• Simulate/test the issue outside an outage if possible.
Please forward this to Tier 2 support or someone equipped to handle it. This feature doesn’t work as expected, and I’d like to get what I’m paying for.

@user_ysxpsi I understand how important your services are to you as they are to me as I also to work from home full time and any service issues will cause a headache not only to not be able to assist my customers but prevents my kids from getting school work done and being entertained while I am working! I want to make sure we are respecting your time and not repeat the steps you have taken previously. What troubleshooting steps have you taken?
